The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading iterative application and service development within an Agile environment, as well as coordinating the activities of other team members. A qualified candidate for this role will provide architecture suggestions and implementations across our stack, and measure the impact these changes have made. They will also review teammates’ pull requests and provide feedback, guidance and mentoring when necessary to ensure the quality of our codebase. They will have a “build vs. buy” sense of pragmatism and ability to balance their efforts between short term impact and long term investment.  This individual will also work directly with Product team members to refine and clarify requirements into actionable Stories to be developed.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the job:

  • 7+ years experience building web applications using JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React, along with the latest ECMAScript standards. Typescript experience is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years experience building services and RESTful APIs using node.js
  • This position requires experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (e.g. Jira and Confluence) and Agile development practices,
  • Strong unit testing and CI/CD experience
  • Experience developing software using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience using containers and deploying into a Kubernetes environment a plus
  • An understanding of ad tech and ad-driven website monetization a plus
  • strong troubleshooting ability
  • strong written and verbal communication skills.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000-$225,000. The range provided is CafeMedia’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities.
